Kazakh President reviews harvest progress in Akmola region

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reviewed the progress of the harvesting campaign in the Akmola region. He was informed that sown areas this year expanded by 300,000 hectares, reaching 5.5 million hectares in total. Grain yields are also growing, with forecasts exceeding 7 million tons. Akmola farmers have already harvested over 3.5 million tons, with the crop noted for its high quality. The President also held discussions with agricultural enterprise leaders, once again emphasizing the importance of developing deep processing and increasing the share of agricultural production in the country’s GDP. Currently, the sector accounts for 6%, and the Head of State highlighted the need to boost these figures, especially as the country is actively exporting its agricultural products. Kazakh grain is already in demand in neighboring markets and Europe, with the first shipment also sent to Vietnam.
