President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Chevron Corporation Chairman Michael
Wirth to discuss major investment projects, including gas production and
petrochemical development. The President emphasized Chevron’s key role in the
sustainable development of Kazakhstan’s energy sector and congratulated Wirth
on achieving first oil production under the Future Growth Project at the Tengiz
oilfield. The Head of State also highlighted the importance of increasing the
participation of domestic companies in the oil and gas industry.
