President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the meeting of
the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC) in Minsk. The heads of the
Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states held talks in a narrow format at
the Palace of Independence, where they discussed prospects for further economic
integration. The meeting was attended by the Presidents of Belarus, the Kyrgyz
Republic, and Russia, while the Prime Minister of Armenia joined via video
link. Later, the leaders gathered for an expanded-format session to discuss pressing
issues related to the development of trade and economic cooperation with the
EAEU’s key partners. They also reviewed prospects for strengthening collaboration
in key sectors such as industry, transport and logistics, agriculture,
digitalization, and artificial intelligence (AI). Notably, Kazakhstan is set to
assume the chairmanship of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council next year. At
the conclusion of the meeting, a number of documents were signed, including
agreements on trade with Mongolia and economic partnership with the United Arab
Emirates (UAE).
