Ahead of his official visit to
Brussels, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlined the priorities for a new stage of cooperation
with the European Union in an article for Euronews. The Head of State emphasized that amid
global turbulence, the partnership should move beyond basic cooperation and
evolve into a strategic interaction. It should be built on
resilience, expanded connectivity, and
the creation of new opportunities. One of the key areas highlighted by the Head
of State was energy. President Tokayev also placed special emphasis on the development of the Middle
Corridor, a strategic route connecting Europe and Asia. At the same time, he stressed that bilateral relations
should not be centered solely on the raw materials sector. Among the priorities
he identified were digital technologies, artificial intelligence, science, and
education. Expanding exchange programs, attracting investment, and implementing
joint innovation projects are expected to make the partnership more practical
and mutually beneficial. Overall, the goal is to deepen cooperation by
complementing economic ties with stronger technological links and humanitarian
cooperation.
