Kazakh President meets with representatives of major Chinese businesses

The business council continued with bilateral meetings between Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Chinese business leaders. Tokayev discussed the construction of a urea production plant in the Aktobe region with Dai Houliang, Chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

The Head of State discussed the development of green and smart technologies in Kazakhstan with Jin Liqun, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The financial institution has invested more than $2 billion in major infrastructure projects in the country.

He also discussed partnership in advanced technologies and digital solutions with Liang Hua, Chairman of Huawei Technologies. The company will modernize server infrastructure and introduce innovative telecommunications technologies in Kazakhstan.

Tokayev met with Xiang Wenbo, Chairman of SANY Group, who shared the corporation's plans to establish a high-tech production facility for specialized equipment in Kazakhstan. SANY Group has already started developing a project to build a wind power plant with a capacity of up to 1 GW.

Ni Zhen, CEO of China Energy Engineering Group (Energy China), proposed connecting northern and southern Kazakhstan by constructing direct current transmission lines. He also noted that the company intends to invest in the creation of a data center.

The President discussed cooperation in the nuclear industry with Shen Yanfeng, General Director of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC).

At a meeting with Sun Yongcai, Chairman of CRRC, Tokayev emphasized the importance of developing localized locomotive production and establishing service centers in Kazakhstan.
