7th Astana Club meeting takes place in Kazakh capital

The Kazakh capital again serves as an international platform for discussing the current geopolitical situation in the world. It hosts the seventh meeting of the Astana Club, titled ‘A New Formula for the World: On the Verge of Transformation’. The event is attended by authoritative experts who engage in discussions on various issues during several thematic sessions. These discussions cover topics such as the state of the global economy, climate change, Central Asia and Afghanistan, as well as the future of the region. Over 40 speakers from the U.S., the UK, China, Russia, Spain, Belgium, India, Turkey and other countries are involved in the discussions.

“I’m aware that Kazakhstan is the country that offers active and positive solutions to regional issues. In addition, many important processes aimed at resolving conflicts in various regions take place in the cities of Astana or Almaty. Therefore, I believe that Kazakhstan plays a very important role on the global stage,” said Zhao Huasheng, senior fellow at the Beijing Club for International Dialogue.

“Kazakhstan has built a reputation as a country capable of fostering mutual understanding, possessing moral authority and engaging in diplomacy that strives to benefit other countries. Thus, Kazakhstan is actively seeking ways to confirm its status, moving forward on this path and further developing such international innovation and discussions that can address issues in the long term,” said Urban Rusnak, Slovak Ambassador-at-Large for Energy Security and Connectivity.
