Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Donald Trump’s special envoy and the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further developing the expanded strategic partnership between the two countries and the upcoming C5+1 summit in Washington. Tokayev expressed confidence that the high-level meeting would be productive in defining key priorities for long-term cooperation. He noted that Kazakhstan looks forward to a new boost in trade, economic, and investment relations with the United States, highlighting potential in the areas of energy, critical minerals, digitalization, transport, and logistics. The President also emphasized the growing role of Central Asia in global affairs. In turn, Sergio Gor and Christopher Landau reaffirmed the strategic importance of the region in U.S. foreign policy. The sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues.
