President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Türkiye
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took part in the Kazakhstan–Türkiye Business Forum. The
Head of State emphasized that Kazakhstan provides comprehensive support to
Turkish companies. Today, around 4,000 enterprises with Turkish capital are
successfully operating in the country. President Tokayev noted that industrial cooperation is essential
for increasing investment volumes, and that the Intergovernmental Commission
between Kazakhstan and Türkiye should play a key role in this process.
Kazakhstan is carrying out large-scale work to create favorable conditions for
business. A Foreign Investors’ Council has been established under the
President, along with a special Investment Headquarters. A national platform operating on
a one-stop-shop principle has been launched. In addition, as part of Altyn Visa program,
investors are provided with tax and migration preferences. Significant
opportunities for business are also offered by the Astana International
Financial Centre.
«Partnership is being strengthened between the Astana
International Financial Centre and Borsa Istanbul. We are interested in
expanding ties with Turkish business. As we know, at the initiative of Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a number of concrete
measures will be implemented to attract large-scale investments into the
national economy. Responsible entrepreneurs will be offered a range of regulatory and tax preferences. We will certainly study this initiative to effectively implement its most
relevant aspects,» President Tokayev noted.
According to the President, Kazakh–Turkish business
communities have implemented more than 140 projects worth over $7.5 billion,
and the potential for cooperation remains high. Priority areas for
strengthening partnership include agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals,
transport, and logistics. In the latter sector, a major role is played by the
Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor.
In recent years, cargo volumes along this route have increased more than fivefold,
while container transportation grew by 36% last year.
«Overall, the expansion of the Middle Corridor’s capabilities serves the long-term interests of both our countries. In this regard, we have proposed the joint implementation of the E-Permit project, which would enable logistics procedures to be carried out in electronic format, ensuring full transparency of processes and minimizing administrative costs. I also consider it important to link the Middle Corridor project with the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative,» President Tokayev added.
In addition, our country is ready to develop joint
projects with Turkish companies in the fields of artificial intelligence,
fintech, cybersecurity, and online services. The President of Türkiye also
noted the high level of bilateral economic relations achieved thanks to the
contributions of Kazakh and Turkish
entrepreneurs. He emphasized that last year our country became Türkiye’s
largest trade and economic partner in the Turkic world. The two countries now
intend to increase trade turnover to $15 billion.
