This week, the Kazakh capital of Astana will become a unique
platform where experts will discuss the foundations of the international system
and the potential of middle powers. The Astana Think Tank Forum aims to
highlight the role of middle powers as global unifiers and explore their
potential in enhancing security, stability, and sustainable development. The
conference will bring together heads of leading Kazakh and foreign think tanks,
diplomats, and researchers. Experts from over 20 countries are expected to
gather to discuss the strategic and diplomatic roles that middle powers play in
today’s global landscape. The forum’s program will cover five key themes: foreign
policy, economic influence, security dynamics, multilateralism and global
institutions, and emerging challenges. A number of documents are expected to be
signed during the forum.
«On the sidelines of the forum, the Kazakhstan
Institute for Strategic Studies plans to sign a memorandum with the Foreign
Policy Community of Indonesia. Our goal is to elevate cooperation to a new
level, particularly by exploring opportunities to promote tourism ties and
enhance trade relations. Expert opinions will then be submitted to the Head of
State,» said Aidar Kurmashev, Head of the Asian Studies Department at the Kazakhstan
Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
