Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Tokayev noted the steady progress in
bilateral relations, which continue to develop in the spirit of strategic
partnership and alliance. The meeting focused on the implementation of
previously reached agreements and the further strengthening of cooperation in
key sectors. Particular attention was given to preparations for Russian
President Vladimir Putin’s upcoming state visit to Kazakhstan at the end of
May. According to Lavrov, work is progressing actively, with all key matters of
cooperation being addressed at the government level. The two sides also
exchanged views on the current international agenda.
