Kazakh, Armenian Presidents hold talks

Today, the Akorda presidential palace hosted a solemn ceremony to welcome the President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev warmly welcomed his counterpart, emphasizing that Kazakhstan is interested in advancing bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level, especially since all necessary opportunities and conditions have been created for this. A solid institutional foundation has been formed, and dynamic development is observed in all areas. Additionally, this year marks the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Armenia.

«This is your first official visit to Kazakhstan. I believe it is a vivid manifestation of the desire to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. This visit holds great significance, and we are interested in bringing the Kazakh-Armenian interaction to a new level,» President Tokayev noted.

The Heads of State discussed cooperation in transport and logistics, agriculture, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in digitalization. President Tokayev confirmed the readiness of the Kazakh side to continue to provide the Almaty platform for negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on concluding a peace treaty. In turn, Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed his commitment to further developing the mutually beneficial partnership with Kazakhstan.

«I am glad to be here. I am impressed by the progress and development that is taking place in Kazakhstan. I am confident that our friendship and relations will be long-lasting due to their historical roots. Kazakhstan is a reliable and friendly partner for us, and I would like to emphasize our successfully developing economic relations,» Vahagn Khachaturyan noted.
