Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed prospects for
expanding cooperation and implementing joint initiatives in artificial
intelligence with Kai-Fu Lee, CEO of Sinovation Ventures and 01.AI. Lee is
taking part in the work of AI Development Council and serves as a non-staff
advisor to the Head of State. The talks also covered ways to expand
cooperation, including in educational initiatives and projects aimed at
localizing advanced expertise and building a sustainable technological
ecosystem in Kazakhstan.
President Tokayev discussed the development of Kazakhstan’s digital economy and the expansion of cooperation within global technology platforms with Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of the Dubai World Trade Centre. The Head of State emphasized that Kazakhstan aims to become a fully digital state over the next three years, noting that hosting the region’s first GITEX AI in Almaty clearly demonstrates this ambition. The parties discussed the possibility of turning it into an annual Central Asian platform, as well as hosting other events in Kazakhstan.
The UAE-based company Presight AI has expressed
interest in participating in the Data Center Valley project. This was announced
by its Chairman, Thomas Pramotedham, during a meeting with President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The Head of State noted that the Smart City project has
already been launched in Astana, contributing to improved safety and quality of
life, and also expressed interest in scaling it to Almaty. In recognition of
Thomas Pramotedham’s personal contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation,
the President awarded him the Order of Dostyk, 2nd Class.
