Kazakh President holds series of meetings on sidelines of AIF

On the sidelines of the Astana International Forum, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei to discuss the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, including an initiative to increase bilateral trade to $1 billion. According to the Minister, the Emirati side has already begun implementing the agreements signed during the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi’s visit to Kazakhstan.

President Tokayev also held a meeting with Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration. The Head of State noted that Kazakhstan is actively working in this field. Amy Pope emphasized the importance of Kazakhstan’s upcoming chairmanship of the Almaty Process in 2025-2027 for advancing regional dialogue on migration issues.

At a meeting with the Chair of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and 8th UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, President Tokayev expressed his gratitude to the Institute for its expert support in developing Kazakhstan’s Carbon Neutrality Strategy and its participation in the Aral Sea restoration program. Ban Ki-Moon voiced his support for the country’s efforts in sustainable development and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation.

The Head of State held a meeting with a group of high representatives of the United Nations. Their participation in the AIF stands as a testament to a shared commitment to multilateral and constructive dialogue. President Tokayev is convinced that the UN must remain a universal and non-alternative organization in ensuring peace, security, and development.
