Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL), who arrived in Astana to participate in the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. President Tokayev emphasized that maintaining interreligious and intercultural harmony occupies a central place in Kazakhstan’s domestic and foreign policy - a commitment reflected in the Congress, which has been held for 22 years. In turn, Sheikh Al-Issa praised the Congress as a unique platform for promoting universal values. The President awarded Sheikh Al-Issa the Order of Dostyk, First Class, in recognition of his contributions to strengthening interfaith harmony worldwide and promoting Islamic civilization.
