President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev approved the draft comprehensive plan for Ulytau region’s development. This became known during the meeting of the Head of State with the region’s governor Berik Abdygaliuly. The important document includes over 240 activities aimed at diversifying the economy, developing social and industrial infrastructure, as well as solving the most pressing issues of the region. Over 130,000 square meters of housing, 11 schools, eight kindergartens and about 30 medical facilities will be built there. A new meat processing complex, a poultry farm and greenhouses will also be launched in the region. In addition, it is planned to repair over 400,000 kilometers of roads of regional and district significance.
“The primary issue of our region is the repair of roads, and by that I mean the Kyzylorda-Zhezkazgan-Karagandy highway and also the road connecting Ulytau with Arkalyk in the long-term perspective. In addition, according to the comprehensive plan, a maternity hospital will be opened in the city of Zhezkazgan, while the Ulytau district will have a new hospital,” Abdygaliuly said.
