Kazakh PM, Shell representatives discuss oil and gas projects

Gas processing plants will be built at the Karachaganak and Kashagan fields, with capacities of four billion and 2.5 billion cubic meters per year, respectively. Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov discussed accelerating the implementation of joint oil and gas projects and prospects for further cooperation during a meeting with the President of Shell’s Exploration and Production Division. Shell is involved in the CPC pipeline project, the North Caspian field, as well as in the modernization of a unit at the Pavlodar Oil Chemistry Refinery to produce winter diesel fuel. The company also conducts geological exploration and scientific research of Kazakhstan’s subsoil resources.
