The situation with the Astana
counter-regulator is stable, and there are no risks of the capital being
flooded. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, along with Astana mayor Zhenis
Kassymbek and Akmola region governor Marat Akhmetzhanov, inspected the
situation around the Kazakh capital. They also assessed the condition of other
sites, including Lake Maibalyk and the Vyacheslav reservoir. Today, there are
plans to increase water discharge at the Astana counter-regulator from 30 to 40
cubic meters per second. The Astana reservoir holds a volume of 409 million
cubic meters, while the water discharge is at the level of 400 cubic meters per
second, with regulated spreading of water masses at the mouth of the Nura
River. Continuous monitoring of the situation around the capital, as well as
the city of Kosshy and the village of Taitobe, is being carried out by the
operational headquarters.
