Kazakh Parliament members lay flowers at Aliya Moldagulova and Manshuk Mametova monuments

Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev, along with veterans of labor and security agencies, military personnel, and senators, laid flowers at the monument to Kazakh sniper Aliya Moldagulova in Astana and observed a minute of silence in honor of the memory of the fallen frontline soldiers. Senate members also extended congratulations to Rzagul Baikeshev on Victory Day, who celebrated his 100th birthday last year. The war veteran participated in battles during the liberation of Poland, Romania, and Hungary.

Mazhilis Speaker Yerlan Koshanov and members of the Mazhilis, a Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament, laid flowers at the monument to Manshuk Mametova. The monument to the famous Kazakh machine gunner, awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously, was erected in Astana in 2018. It is worth reminding that during World War II, 1.2 million Kazakhs were called to the front, with half of them not returning home. Over 700,000 Kazakhs worked on the labor front. All of them made an invaluable contribution to the Victory.
