Kazakhstan and Turkey are set to strengthen cooperation in the film industry. They plan to make several historical series. This became known at the Korkut Ata Turkic World Film Festival that is taking place in Istanbul these days. It was organized for the first time.
Several movies of Kazakhstan were nominated for the award. In particular, the historical film “Kazakh Khanate. The Golden Throne” by Rustem Abdrashev will compete for the main prize in the nomination “feature film”.
“This is the second film entitled “Altyn Tak”. Its festival success is just starting. I believe that this festival should have a good perspective in the future and I think that we should support our films and show them. If we don’t do this ourselves, then who will?” shared film director Rustem Abdrashev.
This festival demonstrates the progress made by the states of the Turkic world, believes Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. He highlighted the need to unite common efforts of the Turkic countries to make high-quality film products.
“I want to emphasize that sharing success with our friendly and fraternal countries and jointly achieving great success will always be a great goal for us. Our combined efforts in the film industry will enable us to enter the international arena with high-quality works,” voiced Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism.
