A festive celebration dedicated to Nauryz holiday took place at the National Museum of Kazakhstan. Guests were presented with unique items of decorative and applied art of the Kazakh people, such as saukele and camisoles embroidered with beads and colorful stones, various kurak korpes woven with love, knitted toys and adornments. The event included a unique and vibrant concert featuring dances and songs by representatives of ethnic and cultural associations of the capital, along with traditional Kazakh dance performances. A demonstration of such unique Kazakh rituals as tusau keser and korisu, as well as the popular national game named assyk atu, was also carried out. Another exciting gift for the spring holiday from the organizers was a fashion show of national clothing by domestic designers and performances by musical creative groups.
“We wanted to celebrate Nauryz,
the great holiday of all Turkic peoples, which comes with spring. This is the
year of renewal commemorated throughout Kazakhstan from March 14. The grand
event is held with the support of the Kogamdyk Kelisim company, which brings
together the ethnic groups residing in the country. Thus, Nauryz has become the
holiday of a multi-ethnic nature in Kazakhstan,” said Akmaral Ibrayeva, Deputy
Director of the National Museum of Kazakhstan.
