The Kazakh movie ‘Mukagali’ impressed the audience of Dubai city. The domestic feature film was recognized the best at an international film festival, the Kazakhfilm studio reports. The movie by the well-known filmmaker Bulat Kalymbetov is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the famous Kazakh poet Mukagali Makatayev and tells about the last years of his life. Over 70 movies from 25 countries were presented at the META Film Fest. The competition program showed four Kazakh films: ‘Dawn of the Great Steppe’, ‘Akyn’, ‘The Horse Thieves. Roads of Time’ and ‘Mukagali’. The latter was first presented to the world at the 25th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and won the Ecumenical Jury Prize. This spring, the biographical movie was screened in the World Cinema category at the 26th International Film Festival of Kerala in India. Apart from that, the film ‘Mukagali’ won the Jury’s Special Prize at the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival.
