Kazakh athlete took 11th place at the Winter Olympics in Beijing

11th place at the Winter Olympics in Beijing was taken by a Kazakh athlete Akmarzhan Kalmurzaeva. She performed in the women’s aerials in freestyle skiing. In the first attempt, she hit the ground. In the second - due to a technical error, she could not perform the jump. Earlier, the leader of the national team of Kazakhstan Zhanbota Aldabergenova could not break into the final round of the competition.

Akmarzhan Kalmurzayeva, member of the Kazakhstan team in freestyle acrobatics:

– Thanks to everyone watching, everyone cheering for me. Unfortunately,  I took only 11th place.

On the 12th day of the Games, Kazakh athletes will perform in two disciplines. Chingiz Rakparov will try his luck in ski biathlon - ski jumping and a 10 km race. Sherzod Khashirbaev will perform in men’s aerials in freestyle skiing. Overall, 34 athletes represent Kazakhstan at the Winter Olympics in Beijing. Winter games will last until February 20.
