Kazakh artists showcase national art at Singapore’s Chingay Parade

For the first time, Kazakhstan participated in one of the largest parades in Asia —the Chingay Parade. Artists from the Astana Opera theater traveled to Singapore to showcase the country’s national art. A unique program was specially prepared for the event, featuring both vocal and choreographic performances. Notably, the annual costumed street procession is held as part of the Lunar New Year celebrations. This year, the parade was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Singapore’s independence. The Kazakh artists’ performance took place with the support of the Kazakh Embassy in Singapore. Experts note that their participation highlights the growing global promotion of Kazakh culture. The spectacular parade, held for more than half a century, annually brings together thousands of actors, musicians, dancers, and other creative groups from around the world.

«After months of negotiations and online meetings with the Singaporean side, our performances were approved, and we were included among the countries participating in the Chingay Parade. We arrived with a group of talented artists from Astana Opera. I was delighted to represent Kazakhstan alongside my colleagues at this grand event,» said Astana Opera Theater artist and project manager Zhanar Abdrakhmanova.
