A total of 12,244,683 people will be able
to vote for or against the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan in
the national referendum which will take place on October 6 and feature over 10,000
polling stations across the country. Citizens can find their station using
special online services and contact centers as well as from invitations with
information about the date, time, location, and voting procedures and a QR code
with useful links.
According to the Kazakh Central Election
Commission, foreign observers will monitor the referendum. A total of 13 people
representing one international organization and five countries, including the U.S.,
Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Armenia, have been accredited. Notably,
applications for accreditation continue to come, and the list will be updated. Also,
the CEC presented the approved form of the ballot paper with
one question and the response options «Agree» or «Disagree».
