President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Chinese
Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Han Chunlin. The meeting focused on preparations for the
Head of State’s upcoming visit to China and his participation in the Shanghai
Cooperation Organization Summit and the ‘SCO Plus’ Meeting in Tianjin.
President Tokayev emphasized that the country attaches priority importance to
deepening its comprehensive strategic partnership with China and expressed
confidence that the SCO summit will mark a new milestone in the Organization’s
history, contributing to the development of regional cooperation. For his part,
the Ambassador noted that the events will provide additional momentum to
strengthening Kazakh-Chinese relations. The parties also discussed prospects for
expanding trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation
between the two countries.
