The date for the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and
Traditional Religions was announced in Astana. It will take place on September
17-18, 2025. This was revealed during the XXII meeting of the Congress
Secretariat. Global spiritual leaders discussed the agenda for the upcoming
event, titled «Dialogue of Religions: Synergy for the Future.» During the session,
participants touched upon topics such as the role of religion in the
consolidation of humanity and sustainable global development, the preservation of
spiritual values in the digital age, and the fight against extremism. It was
also announced that a special institute will be established as an element of
spiritual diplomacy. Dimash Qudaibergen will represent it as one of five
goodwill ambassadors.
«We plan to establish an Institute of Goodwill Ambassadors
of the Congress, which is intended to become a key element of spiritual
diplomacy. We invite prominent religious, political, and public figures to
contribute to promoting the goals and ideas of the Congress at the
international level,» said Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairperson of the Senate, the Upper
House of the Kazakh Parliament, and Head of the Congress Secretariat.
«The congress is moving towards long-lasting
impacts. The interfaith dialogue was a desire of the world, the republic of
Kazakhstan has turned it into a tradition. Now where there is a discussion
about interfaith dialogue, there is a discussion of the contribution of the
Republic of Kazakhstan,» said Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General at the
International Islamic University Islamabad in Pakistan.
