President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone
conversation with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He warmly
congratulated his Uzbek counterpart on his birthday, noting the dynamic
development of Uzbekistan under Mirziyoyev’s leadership. The two leaders
emphasized the strategic nature of Kazakh-Uzbek relations and the active
expansion of cooperation in areas such as the economy, culture, science, and
education. President Tokayev emphasized that the sustainable development of the
entire Central Asian region largely depends on the level of interaction between
the two countries. Special attention was given to joint projects in industry,
energy, logistics, and agriculture. The presidents also discussed current
regional issues and the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings.
