Japanese companies present energy projects in Astana

Kazakhstan and Japan are actively strengthening cooperation in the field of green technologies. Presentations of Japanese innovative developments aimed at reducing carbon emissions and protecting the environment were held in Astana. These solutions include solar and wind energy, carbon credits, and bioenergy. The event brought together representatives of government agencies, businesses, and Japanese companies. Participants discussed the implementation of these technologies in the Kazakh market, as well as the further expansion of cooperation in trade and investment. Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike highly praised the dynamic development of Kazakh capital, including the growth in the number of young entrepreneurs and the introduction of advanced technologies. Emphasizing the potential for a joint response to global challenges, she invited Kazakh companies to participate in the international startup conference SusHi Tech Tokyo next year.

«What is Kazakhstan interested in today? It is green and nuclear energy technologies. One of the key tasks is the development of infrastructure, transport, and logistics, as well as active cooperation with Japanese companies to expand trade, economic, and investment ties,» noted Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Kazakh Chamber of International Commerce.

«The companies presented today are startups working under Global South, which aims to drive global environmental transformation, particularly the advancement of green energy and the reduction of carbon emissions. One of the companies focuses on drone-based logistics, which reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emissions while also speeding up deliveries by avoiding traffic congestion. Another company produces blades for wind power plants, contributing to the development of renewable energy,» said Moriharu Okano, Senior Director, Industrial Policy Collaboration and Promotion, Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
