The Kazakhstan pavilion was opened at the National Development University of Indonesia to raise awareness of the Kazakh Great Steppe among the youth and to popularize the Kazakh language and culture. It displays books on the history, culture, economy and landmarks, as well as the products of the Kazakh folk applied art. In the future, it is planned to hold events to pursue cooperation between the two countries. It bears noting that the pavilion was opened with the support of the Embassy in Indonesia and the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages. The two higher education institutions held talks, discussing the possibility of launching a double degree program.
“The Kazakhstan pavilion at our university has a number of positive aspects. Firstly, it is the exchange of culture. Students and teachers of our university, as well as Indonesians in general, will be able to learn more about Kazakhstan, Kazakh culture, traditions and customs. Secondly, this place will become a so-called ‘diplomatic network’, connecting not only our universities, but also Kazakh and Indonesian societies. Our students are currently attending online joint lectures with students of the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages. Next year, within the exchange program, 30 students of the social science faculty at the UPNV Jakarta are going to study in Kazakhstan,” said Erna Hernawati, Rector of the Indonesian National Development University.
