High-ranking guests are gathering
in Astana for the SCO Summit. The event will be attended by heads of state and
government, leaders of observer and dialogue partner countries, and several
heads of major international organizations. Russian President Vladimir Putin and
UN Secretary-General António Guterres have already arrived in Astana. It is
worth noting that Chinese President Xi Jinping landed the day before and was
greeted by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the capital’s airport. SCO
Secretary-General Zhang Ming has come to Astana as well. The 24th Meeting of
the SCO Council of Heads of State will address a wide range of current issues
in political, trade and economic, as well as cultural and humanitarian
cooperation.
