Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic aim to develop partnership

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Marlen Mamataliyev. Welcoming the guest, the Head of State emphasized the special significance of this first official visit to Kazakhstan for strengthening bilateral relations. Tokayev noted that there are no contradictions or disagreements between the two countries and that good-neighborly relations will continue to deepen further. He also congratulated the Kyrgyz Republic on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, calling it a historic event for the entire region. For his part, Mamataliyev reaffirmed that the Kyrgyz side supports the large-scale constitutional reforms underway in Kazakhstan, which are laying a solid foundation for building a progressive Kazakhstan. The sides discussed interparliamentary cooperation and the implementation of previously reached agreements. Astana and Bishkek are set to further develop their strategic partnership and alliance.
