Experts are discussing the results of the Russian
President’s state visit to Kazakhstan. They note that these outcomes underscore
the special significance of the strategic partnership between the two countries
and mark an important milestone in the history of Kazakh-Russian relations. The
two leaders reached significant agreements in key areas of multifaceted
cooperation.
«It is evident that the governments of both countries have
been preparing for this visit for a long time. Many documents were included in
the agenda, covering areas such as deepening the strategic partnership, energy,
transport, humanitarian cooperation, the opening of branches of Russian schools
here and Kazakh schools in Russia, and the establishment of university
branches. This represents extensive work, and I believe the visit was
successful. This is a strong foundation for the future of bilateral relations,»
said Yerkin Tukumov, Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies
under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to Russian experts, the good-neighborly relations
between the two countries have facilitated successful cooperation across a wide
range of sectors. Significant prospects are opening up in the trade, economic,
energy, and water sectors. The parties are also focusing on enhancing cultural
and humanitarian cooperation.
«The state visit was highly productive. I wouldn’t single
out any one agreement, as all of them address various aspects of our broad
bilateral agenda. Energy is one of the most groundbreaking areas. We cooperate
on the transit of Kazakh oil through Russian territory via the Atyrau and
Samara pipelines. We are also expanding our collaboration in the gas
transportation system, which will operate in a systematic manner, involving not
only gas transit through Kazakhstan but also the development of gas distribution
networks,» said Stanislav Pritchin, Head of the Sector for Central Asia at the
IMEMO RAS.
