Global Innovation Index 2024: Kazakhstan ranks among top three Central and South Asian states

Kazakhstan has entered the top three Central and South Asian countries in the Global Innovation Index 2024. Astana hosted the first-ever regional ceremony for unveiling of the global ranking. It brought together heads of patent offices from Asian countries, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international, as well as government and non-governmental organizations. According to the data announced at the event, Kazakhstan showed significant progress, rising from 81st to 78th place globally, with improvements noted in several areas, including the economy, entrepreneurship, education, and investment climate. Furthermore, Kazakhstan has risen from 93rd to 65th place in the «Creative Goods and Services» category, and in the «National Feature Films» category the country advanced from 61st to 31st place. It should be noted that since 2007, the prestigious international ranking has been evaluating the parameters of more than 130 countries across 80 various areas.

«This is very important for attracting investments. It serves as a crucial benchmark for us in implementing innovations and developing various areas. As I have already mentioned, there are 80 different areas that cover almost all sectors of our economy. This includes the rule of law, government effectiveness, and the development of digitalization. The event is of great significance for Kazakhstan, since the country attracts attention in the international arena with its actions and reforms,» said Botagoz Zhakselekova, Kazakh Vice Minister of Justice.
