A growing number of foreign students are choosing Kazakhstan
for higher education, according to data from the Bureau of National Statistics.
This academic year, 28,500 foreign students are studying at Kazakh universities,
marking an increase of nearly 13% compared to the previous year. The majority
of students seeking a Kazakh diploma come from India, Mongolia, and China.
Additionally, non-resident students arrive from CIS countries, including
Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Russia.
Overall, out of the 624,000 students enrolled in universities and
institutes across the country, almost a third choose to study in Almaty. As the
country’s largest metropolis, Almaty has become Kazakhstan’s main educational
hub, with over 200,000 young people pursuing their studies there.
