Five cross-border hubs are under construction in Kazakhstan,
with their launch scheduled for 2026, according to the government. Construction
of eight production facilities is already underway at the Central Asia
International Center for industrial cooperation on the border with Uzbekistan. Meanwhile,
work is actively progressing on the Alatau industrial trade and logistics
complex on the border with the Kyrgyz Republic. Of the ten projects planned
there, most are focused on processing industries, with a total investment of
$200 million. The Caspian hub is also being developed. At the Aktau port, container
terminal capacity is set to increase from 70,000 to 240,000 containers. The
Sarzha terminal in Kuryk is expected to reach a cargo turnover of 10 million tonnes.
In addition, an asphalt concrete plant is under construction at the Eurasia
Cross-Border Trade Center near the Russian border. In the Khorgos hub, 45
projects worth 258 billion tenge are being implemented. Plans are also in place
to establish the Kolzhat International Digital Transport and Logistics Hub and an
Agro-Industrial Zone in the Uyghur district.
