Kazakh airlines carried around nine million passengers in the first 10 months of 2022, which is 16 percent more compared to the same period last year. As for international flights, at present, Kazakh residents can take direct flights to 29 countries around the globe. Thus, new routes from Almaty to Milan, Heraklion, Nha Trang, Ashgabat, Surgut, Tyumen and Novosibirsk and from Astana to St. Petersburg opened this year. In addition, there are plans to launch flights from Aktau and Shymkent to Ankara, from Almaty and Aktau to Medina, as well as from Astana to Baku and other cities. Along with that, starting from December 26, it is planned to open routes between Kazakhstan and the Seychelles, start flights to Pakistan, and to increase the number of air travel to India, China and the UK. As for domestic flights, they are operated on 57 routes.
