Experts discuss the Eurasian region’s potential at a panel
session of the Astana International Forum, noting that the modernization of
transport infrastructure, innovations in the energy sector, and efficient
resource use will drive sustainable economic growth across the region.
«Central Asia has a huge potential for renewable energy. You
can produce carbon-free product and energy and export. Kazakhstan is a major
country, the leading country in Central Asia. Kazakhstan already tried to be
the bridge of green growth between Europe and Asia. So, Kazakhstan can play a
very important role promoting green growth paradigm. Green growth means
investing in climate change and increasing economic growth. I really believe
that Kazakhstan has a huge potential to push this green growth and green bridge
agenda,» said Rae Kwon Chung, Nobel Prize winner.
