Ten documents were signed between
Kazakhstan and Serbia during the official visit of President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev to Belgrade. All of them are aimed at deepening the partnership and
cover cooperation in priority areas, including space activities, the military-industrial
complex, digital technologies, tourism, and education. Following high-level
talks, the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Serbia addressed the media, reiterating
the productivity and strategic significance of the visit. According to Tokayev,
joint projects are expected in the transport and logistics sector, as well as
in green energy. He also highlighted
cooperation in the agricultural sector.
«Given Serbia’s extensive experience in
agriculture, we have agreed to strengthen mutually beneficial ties. Agreements
have been reached on the exchange of expertise in veterinary issues, the
expansion of genetic resources, organic farming, and plant biotechnology. The
importance of establishing partnerships between educational institutions and
agricultural research organizations has also been emphasized,» he said.
Tokayev emphasized the growing importance
of cultural and humanitarian ties between Astana and Belgrade. He expressed
Kazakhstan’s willingness to collaborate on joint educational, scientific, and
cultural projects. The Presidents also shared their views on global and
regional security.
«Kazakhstan and Serbia have established
close relations at the international and regional levels. We hold similar
positions on many pressing issues. We have confirmed our interest in further
strengthening cooperation within multilateral structures in the current complex
geopolitical situation,» Tokayev noted.
An example of sincere participation and
friendship between the countries is Serbia’s financial assistance to Kazakhstan
during the unprecedented floods this spring. Tokayev expressed his gratitude to
the Serbian people and personally to President Aleksandar Vucic for their
support. Next year, the Presidents will once again exchange their views, when Vucic
will visit Astana.
