Learn more about the origins: immerse yourself in the authentic culture of nomads, get acquainted with ancient traditions and customs of the Kazakh people. This became possible in the first ethnic theme park, which was opened in Atyrau region. The sight in the national style has already attracted attention of residents and guests of the city.
“The entire Kazakh culture is presented here. You can see how the yurts look from the inside,” shared a visitor.
“I saw the traditional swing and the yurt,” said a visitor.
“We can take a walk with friends around the park, and see the beautiful culture and the yurts,” said a visitor.
“I liked the traditional swings called altybakan. There are beautiful yurts. I especially liked archery. There are many songs sounding,” said a visitor.
Various national products made by local craftsmen are presented on the territory of the ethno-park. Tourists also have the opportunity to enjoy Kazakh cuisine, ride camels and take part in national sports such as pulling the rope and archery. Each day of the week is dedicated to a specific theme.
“We present history of art, traditions and customs. Here we have tried to reflect all these aspects. It is important for us that young people know the cultural values of our ancestors. From the first days of opening, we see the visitors take an interest in this place,” said Gulzhan Kuzekesheva, a project author.
“As a local resident, I can say that this is a unique and useful project. This place reflects the whole history and traditions of our people. Young people will be very interested in spending time here,” said Oteshkali Amirov, a resident.
Atyrau region has great potential for the development of domestic tourism, experts say. If earlier the residents of the region spent their leisure time on the shores of the Caspian Sea or in the Akzhaiyk Reserve, now the list of tourist destinations includes a new attraction. In three years, local authorities plan to complete 9 more tourist sites.
