East Kazakhstan region and China set to develop cross-border tourism

Eastern Kazakhstan is expecting an influx of travelers from China. The development of cross-border tourism will help attract a large number of foreign visitors. Cooperation is currently underway with representatives of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR). A familiarization tour has been organized for specialists of China’s major travel companies to showcase the region's most popular scenic spots. The delegation has already visited the Katon-Karagai, Glubokovsky, Markakol and Zaisan districts. Upon their return home, the specialists of travel agencies will actively promote the country's sights and beauties. Joint work in this direction is underway. Notably, over 350,000 domestic tourists visited the East Kazakhstan region last year.

«We are ready to offer several segments and tour products, including exclusive tourism for small groups of up to 15 people. Group tourism of up to 50 people is also available. This is a standard group package that is widely popular in China. The discussion will also focus on attracting Chinese investment from companies developing tourism, including tourist infrastructure,» said Ardak Madiyev, head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial-Innovative Development of the East Kazakhstan region.
