Since the beginning of the year, the volume of Kazakhstan’s foreign trade has grown significantly, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Zhanel Kushukova announced. Over the past five months, the country’s foreign trade turnover amounted to almost US$36.5 billion, she elaborated. And this was achieved despite the continuing negative trend in the global economy. The main growth happened due to the export of non-primary goods. Compared to last year, it increased by 23 percent to US$7.2 billion. Currently, trade is growing with almost all of Kazakhstan’s partners, including China, Germany, Spain and others, as well as with countries that are members of such associations as the EAEU and the CIS. According to Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration, almost US$3 billion of domestic goods were exported to the EAEU member states alone, which is 36 percent more than in the previous year.
