The enhancement of
Kazakhstan’s food independence was discussed at a Security Council meeting
chaired by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The Head of State gave
instructions to ensure the population’s access to affordable and quality food
products, emphasizing the importance of modernizing agriculture and domestic
agrarian science. Additionally, the topical issue is the intensification of
measures to prevent land degradation. There is also a need for new approaches
to systematically organize the process of updating the agricultural machinery
fleet and creating the domestic seed fund adapted to local conditions.
Furthermore, President Tokayev drew attention to the necessity of prompt state
support for farmers and food producers.
