The diplomatic service of Kazakhstan turns 30. An international conference dedicated to this event took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital. Veterans and employees of the Foreign Ministry, representatives of foreign agencies, as well as Kazakh and international speakers were in attendance. According to the Foreign Minister, over the years of independence, Kazakhstan has established diplomatic relations with 186 states and has become a member of over 50 international organizations. In addition, the country has become a regional hub for investors and attracted more than US$380 billion in foreign direct investment.
“By the end of 2021, 44 investment projects with foreign participation were commissioned for a total of US$3.67 billion with the creation of more than 6,000 jobs. At present, in cooperation with KAZAKH INVEST, work is underway on 450 projects with foreign participation worth US$63 billion. In the context of tougher competition for international investment, we are taking systematic measures to improve the investment attractiveness of the country,” said Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In honor of the anniversary, a time capsule was laid at the Foreign Ministry building. Symbolic of the anniversary date, it will keep the message of the current employees of the department for future Kazakh diplomats for 30 years.
