Central Referendum Commission completes accreditation of international observers

272 representatives of international organizations and foreign states will observe the nationwide referendum in Kazakhstan, which will take place on June 5. According to the Kazakh Central Election Commission, on the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 14 observers from the European Union representative office in Kazakhstan, as well as from Germany, Indonesia, Iran, North Macedonia and Estonia applied for accreditation.

Preparation for referendum: 70,000 people to undergo training

Meanwhile, preparations for the referendum are underway across the country. Nurlan Abdirov, the chairman of the Central Referendum Commission, said that more than 70,000 people will undergo special training. The educational process is divided into several stages.

“Along with the traditional training format, the Central Commission held three more seminars in online, offline and hybrid formats. The first one was for the national and regional public associations. We also held seminars for NGOs that work in the sector for the protection of the rights of citizens with disabilities and separately for the media,” said Nurlan Abdirov, Chairperson of the Central Referendum Commission.
