Kazakhstan has
improved its position in the Travel and Tourism Development Index 2024, ranking
52nd out of 119 countries on the list of global tourist destinations, published
by the World Economic Forum. Overall, Kazakhstan has climbed 14 places in the global
ranking, surpassing other Central Asian countries. It earned the highest scores
in such categories as the socio-economic impact of tourism, health and hygiene,
natural and cultural resources, human capital and labor market, as well as
tourist infrastructure and services.
“This is fantastic
news. We are now just two positions away from our long-term goal of entering
the top 50 countries in this ranking. This success is the result of the
coordinated work of central government agencies, local executive bodies, the
business association, and the science and education community. Nevertheless, we
need to keep pushing forward to reach not only the top 50 but also the top 30,”
said Kazakh Tourism Official Representative Alisher Tursyn.
