Nearly
64 percent of Kazakh citizens on the voter lists, or over 7.8 million people,
voted in the referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant. This data
is as of 8 p.m. on October 6, when polling stations closed across the country.
The figures were announced by the Central Referendum Commission. Voters in the
Kyzylorda, Turkistan, and Aktobe regions were the most active. It is worth
noting that the vote counting continues.
