Sustainable development of the
region is achievable through scientific partnership. The importance of
cooperation among Central Asian scientists was emphasized at an international
conference in Astana organized by the Presidential Center and the UNESCO Regional
Office. As noted by experts, joint research, exchange of innovative ideas, and the
implementation of technological developments will enable the region to emerge
as leaders. It is crucial to involve young people in scientific activities.
22,000 scientists are currently employed in Kazakhstan, with less than half of
them being young professionals. Foreign specialists shared their experiences
and methods to change the situation.
“We will be a platform that
brings together experienced scholars with young specialists to enhance the
potential of the youth. Additionally, we will provide a platform for them to share
their opinions and knowledge to government representatives. This is a crucial
aspect for us since we need to hear the opinions of young people,” said Maksat
Baibekov, programme manager at the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty.
