The 20th International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) brought together a vast number of enthusiasts of nomadic heritage to Abu Dhabi this year. Visitors are captivated by the traditions and authenticity of the ancient nomadic civilization in the modern world. The event participants, comprising companies from 65 countries, showcased the latest technologies and innovations in the fields of equestrian sports and falconry, along with goods designed for outdoor activities and travel. Guests had the opportunity not only to admire beautiful Arabian horses, greyhounds, and falcons but also to purchase them. The exhibition featured auctions as well as hunting and sporting competitions. Additionally, products from Central Asian countries were presented, with Kazakh product saumal (fresh mare’s milk) drawing great interest. The organizers and participants of the exhibition are confident that the event will help establish new partnerships, broaden the geography of exports, and promote traditional cultural values.
“This exhibition is very important because we can talk about our passion -falconry - to learn how to save birds who are endangered or dying because of losing their habitat, who are not living very well. And so, with falconry techniques we can improve their lives,” said Veronique Blontrock, IAF Public Relations Officer.
“This exhibition is expressing hunting and horsemanship. We show our generations that we still respect our cultures, which we aim to pass down to our children. I love Kazakhstan. We share the same culture. In the future, I will express in my sculptures Kazakh people. I hope that next year and, in the years to come, to see more Kazakh people sharing their culture with us in the UAE,” Essam Elmasry, sculptor at the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy, said.
