From mineral extraction to a full production cycle. This is the approach Kazakhstan is proposing to advance within its cooperation with the United States. The focus is on the joint implementation of critical minerals projects, the development of processing and high-tech industries, and the creation of industrial clusters. Particular attention will be given to establishing joint research and engineering centers, as well as training engineering and technical specialists. This was stated by Yersayin Nagaspayev at the C5+1 Critical Minerals Dialogue involving the countries of Central Asia and the U.S., held in Astana. He noted that particular attention is given to strengthening the transport infrastructure of the Middle Corridor, which is expected to enhance the reliability of critical mineral supplies to global markets. Participants in the dialogue, including representatives of government agencies, international organizations, businesses, and the expert community, also discussed new investment projects and the expansion of industrial cooperation between Central Asian countries and the U.S. Notably, Kazakhstan is home to more than 9,500 mineral deposits, including over 100 sites containing rare and rare-earth metals.
«Kazakhstan is interested not only in
exporting raw materials but also in developing joint production facilities,
technology transfer, workforce training, and scientific cooperation. We believe
that only through close cooperation between governments, businesses, and
international partners, can we build a reliable and diversified global supply
chain for critical minerals. I am confident that today’s Dialogue will create a
strong foundation for future cooperation between the countries of Central Asia
and the United States,» noted Kazakh
Minister of Industry and Construction Yersayin Nagaspayev.
