The Baiterek
national holding company is set to double its support for the non-primary
sector of Kazakhstan's economy within the next two years. The organization will
also step up efforts to attract investment and engage banks in manufacturing
project lending. This was reported to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev
today by Baiterek Holding Chairman Nurlan Baibazarov. The Head of State was
also briefed on Baiterek’s performance in the first nine months of this year,
which included the financing of investment projects worth 500 billion tenge and
the provision of one trillion tenge in loans to over 18,000 SME proposals.
Financial support for the agro-industrial complex totaled 447 billion tenge.
